"The Dropout" released its first three episodes on Hulu on March 3, and things are ramping up. The docuseries depicts Elizabeth Holmes's founding of Theranos to its eventual crash. The release comes just two months after Holmes was convicted of four out of 11 counts of conspiracy and fraud, which were brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in 2018. Her sentencing is scheduled to take place in September 2022.
The Hulu series impeccably captures the early 2000s. Nods to the era include the release of the first iPhone, cringy 2000s fashion, and the omnipresence of Sean Paul's "Temperature" and Katy Perry's "Firework." Ahead, see all the 2000s references in Hulu's "The Dropout."
