‘Ralph Breaks The Internet’ Nearly Breaks The Box Office — Weekend Totals HERE!

The Thanksgiving holiday rewarded a pair of sequels — Ralph Breaks The Internet and Creed II — as the long weekend powered a VERY strong box office showing across North America!

According to the full box office results posted this morning by THR, the five-day (Wednesday-Sunday) holiday weekend was exceptionally good for the film industry this year, led by those two sequels racking up HUGE cash as new releases.

To lead things off, Ralph Breaks The Internet took home a hefty $84.5 million from just over 4,000 theaters across the continent, which is the second-best Thanksgiving showing of all time behind 2013’s Frozen! WOW!!!

Right behind the animated flick, MGM‘s Creed II landed a strong $55.8 million from about 3,500 theaters — which officially makes it the top Thanksgiving start ever for a live-action film!

Records all around!

Even specialty films did well at their smaller box office take this weekend, too!

The Favourite, an Oscars hopeful this winter, scored the very best location average at the box office in a limited opening since La La Land swept theaters in a similar way about two years ago.
