Gunman Opens Fire On Pittsburgh Synagogue — Multiple Fatalities Reported

UPDATE 1:45 PM PST: 11 people have been confirmed dead, according to new reports. Additionally, the suspected gunman surrendered to law enforcement after reportedly barricading himself in a room on the third floor of the building and exchanging fire with police.

UPDATE 12:42 PM PST: A law enforcement official has identified the suspect of Saturday’s shooting as Robert Bowers, who is currently in custody. Sources say at least 10 people were killed, with another six wounded, including four police officers who rushed to the scene.

Multiple fatalities are being reported after a gunman opened fire on worshippers inside the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday morning.

A preliminary update from the state police via NBC News reveal 12 people have been shot, three of which are police officers. The shooter reportedly used an AR-style weapon as well as one or two hand guns. He is reportedly in custody.

A death count hasn’t been revealed, but law enforcement sources say at least eight have been killed.
