Somebody is creeping around my house

So it’s Thursday May 9, 2019 and last night, Wednesday May 8, 2019 around 8:45pm I heard twigs snap as if somebody stepped on them, outside my living room window, i brushed it off. 15 minutes later, around 9:00pm my brother was hearing leaves crunch and footsteps all around his bedroom window (both locations around first floor of a 2 storey house), he came upstairs worried and I told him that I heard it too. We went to my parents and my dad went outside and scaled our property with a flashlight but found nothing, my mom didn’t believe us. We ended up blaming a raccoon, but I still thought it was a human.

Around 4:34am after falling asleep, I woke up to my dog rustling in my blankets, (I sleep with my window wide open btw) and when I woke up I could hear the sound of feet lightly scraping along an asphalt road, I peeked out and saw nothing, I heard them again and realized that there was somebody outside my house, watching in. I texted my mom who just brushed it off again, I then heard them for a third time. (I realized that they were walking back and forth between my families cars, a truck in the driveway and a van parked on the road) I could hear a car coming in the distance and as it got closer I could hear the footsteps running away.

Tonight, May 9th, 2019 I am going to set up a motion activated camera in my bedroom window to catch this fucker, I’ll also keep you all updated if they decide to come back tonight.

Any advice?

edit: The man was arrested for breaking into cars and stealing nearly $5000 of stuff in my neighbourhood. All good.
