More good news for Nick Cordero!
According to his wife Amanda Kloots, the actor’s condition is improving after waking up from a month-long medically induced coma.
As we reported, Kloots has been documenting her hubby’s intense battle with COVID-19, which landed him in the hospital where his leg had to be amputated, over the past couple months. Thankfully, the updates have been more positive the past few weeks, with Nick obeying commands and officially waking up from his coma.

Well, the positive updates kept coming on Thursday, when the dancer took to her Instagram Stories to open up about the Broadway star’s current mental state, telling her followers the 41-year-old is getting a “little stronger” each day!
She shared in the video:
“His mental status is looking good. He’s getting better and better every day. A little stronger every day, so things are really looking great on that front.”
Of course, Cordero still has a long way to go before he makes a full recovery. Kloots noted the performer is “still having a little bit of an issue with the infection in his lungs,” but added:
“But mental status: We are on good, good progress with mental status.”
AH-Mazing!
This update came days after Kloots revealed that Cordero was conscious, writing in a note shared to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday:
“Nick is awake! He is extremely weak, so weak that he can’t close his mouth. But he is following commands which means his mental status is coming back this is a long road, a very long road.”
Referencing the term health care workers use to describe COVID patients being discharged from the hospital following a full recovery, she added:
“We are on our way to #coderocky.”
The Tony nominee was first admitted to El Lay’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in late March for what the family initially thought was pneumonia. After two negative test results for COVID-19, Cordero tested positive for the virus while he was placed in a medically induced coma and hooked to a ventilator and an ECMO machine to help with his breathing.
We’re so happy to hear that Nick’s condition continues to improve, and will continue to keep you updated as more developments come to light.
