Lori Loughlin is ready to redeem herself!
According to a source close to the embattled actress and husband Mossimo Giannulli, the couple want to face trial in the college admissions bribery scandal because they think it’s the only way to save their reputations.

The insider explained to People:
“Lori feels like so much damage has been done publicly that the only way for her to counter it is to fight this case in court. She feels like once all the evidence is presented, that people will understand how things happened.”
Yep. Loughlin reportedly wants a chance to tell the court *her* side of the story — which, based on what we’ve heard, is that she didn’t think they were doing anything illegal when the couple allegedly paid $500,000 to admissions consultant William “Rick” Singer and his nonprofit organization, Key Worldwide Foundation, to facilitate their daughters’ admission to USC.
Prosecutors, of course, think otherwise.
The Fuller House actress and 55-year-old fashion designer are facing up to 40 years in prison for charges of mail fraud and money laundering conspiracy. Before they were slapped with the additional money laundering charges, the couple, who entered formal pleas of not guilty on Monday, turned down a plea deal that could have drastically reduced their sentences.
While entering a plea deal at this stage isn’t entirely out of the question, Loughlin apparently isn’t interested in any option that would put her behind bars — so the only choice the couple has is to go to trial. The source continued:
“She doesn’t want to spend time in jail, but she knows that any sort of plea or conviction at this point will include jail time. Her only chance of avoiding jail is to go to court and be found not guilty.”
Wow! Aunt Becky likes to live dangerously… in case you didn’t already put that together by now.
Despite the overwhelming reported evidence against them, including recorded phone calls in which both Loughlin and Giannulli allegedly admit their part of the crime, the couple apparently believe they have evidence that will eventually exonerate them.
That evidence, according to the source, supports the case that Loughlin “didn’t understand exactly what she was doing” while allegedly participating in the scheme, explaining:
“Everyone has seen snippets of the evidence, but there’s a lot more out there. When you look at it in context, you can argue that this is a woman who didn’t understand exactly what she was doing — and she was being counseled and guided by a man who this was his area of expertise. When the evidence comes out, she’ll have a case to make… At this point, if she pleads guilty, she feels like the mitigating evidence will never see the light of day.”
So, she’s actually attempting to paint herself as the innocent victim in all this? LOL… good luck with that, Becky.
A trial date has not yet been set, but it can’t come soon enough. Mostly just because we’re curious to see what “evidence” the actress could possibly have up her sleeve!
