Khloé Kardashian Has Been 'Publicly Living Out' Her 'Nightmares,' Says Pal Khadijah Haqq McCray

Khloé Kardashian’s closest friends are praising the reality star for keeping a brave face as the fallout from Jordyn Woods’ hookup with Tristan Thompson continues.

Khadijah Haqq McCray, a longtime friend of the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, 34, shared a sweet message of support with her pal on Saturday, shortly after Kardashian reversed course and said Thompson, 27, was to blame for breaking up their family, not Woods, 21.

“I’m proud of you publicly living out your nightmares while complete strangers judge, dehumanize, and ridicule you,” McCray, 35, wrote on Twitter. “No one is perfect and we all make mistakes. But we can show them better than we could ever tell them. I love you.”

Kardashian initially issued a fiery pair of tweets blasting Woods for lying during her Red Table Talk interview, during which the model  insisted she was “not the reason Tristan and Khloe aren’t together.”

“Why are you lying @jordynwoods ?? If you’re going to try and save yourself by going public, INSTEAD OF CALLING ME PRIVATELY TO APOLOGIZE FIRST, at least be HONEST about your story. BTW, You ARE the reason my family broke up!” Kardashian tweeted on Friday.

However, the Good American co-founder had a change of heart the following day, saying that the blame actually lies with Thompson.

“This has been an awful week & I know everyone is sick of hearing about it all (as am I). I’m a rollercoaster of emotions & have said things I shouldn’t have,” she wrote. “Honestly, Tristan cheating on me & humiliating me, wasn’t such a shock as the first time.”

“What’s been harder & more painful is being hurt by someone so close to me. Someone whom I love & treat like a little sister. But Jordyn is not to be blamed for the breakup of my family. This was Tristan’s fault,” she added in a follow-up tweet about Woods.

McCray and her twin sister Malika Haqq are two of Kardashian’s closest friends, and McCray’s supportive note follows in her sister’s footsteps.

Haqq previously left a comment on her own Instagram account that appeared to label Woods a “coward” who refused to accept blame for her hookup with Thompson.

“I’ve been wrong before and I’ll be wrong again but I damn sure wouldn’t make excuses (alcohol) in an interview to gain self pity and save face. No one in my life would condone that coward like behavior,” she wrote in response to a fan who wrote that they admired her continued support of Kardashian.

Opening up about her hookup with Thompson for the first time on Friday, Woods denied having sex with Thompson but admitted to a kiss.

“It was like a kiss on the lips, but no tongue kiss, no making out,” she said. “Nothing. But I don’t think that he’s wrong either, because I allowed myself to be in that position. And when alcohol’s involved, people make dumb moves or people get caught up in the moment.”

A source recently told PEOPLE that Kardashian and Thompson are now “100 percent over,” and that the star is now ready to move on from the relationship, which has seen strife since at least April, when the NBA star allegedly cheated on Kardashian just before she gave birth to their daughter True, 10 months.

Though she initially forgave him, they had been living apart since the fall, and a source recently told PEOPLE that things “never really went back to normal” between the couple.

“It really seems she’s able to see what everyone else has been seeing for so long — that she was always too good for Tristan,” the source said. “She deserves so much better. In the end, now that they are 100 percent over, Khloé feels like she did everything she could to be in a relationship with Tristan. Clearly, he doesn’t care about his relationship with her.”
