Court Docs: Katy Perry ‘Felt Pressure’ To Unconditionally Support Kesha Against Dr. Luke…

We’re starting to learn a LOT more about what was going down behind the scenes the last couple years during Kesha‘s legal battle against Dr. Luke.

For one, as we’ve been reporting based on newly-released court docs of old text messages between the parties, things were not-so-perfect between Katy Perry and Lady GaGa — though today, GaGa has all but put that to rest.

But more than that, per docs, we’re also learning about Katy’s apparent hesitancy to support Kesha (and Kesha alone) as the Tik Tok singer pursued claims against Dr. Luke.

In court documents of Perry’s previously unsealed deposition, first published by The Blast, Katy revealed that she “felt pressure” to support Kesha’s side of the story of an alleged rape, saying (below):

“I felt pressured, but I also knew both of them and a lot of people did not. So it was easy for them to be disattached and support an idea rather than an actual instance.”

Further on in the deposition, Perry reveals that she was worried too much public support for Kesha (or for Dr. Luke) would make it look like she was “picking a side,” and so she chose not to say anything.

Unfortunately, that didn’t go over so well for Katy, either (below):

“People were generally very angry at me for not saying anything.”

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t — at least, that’s what she went through at the time, it seems.

But as the deposition wore on, things got even more interesting — it wasn’t just that Katy didn’t want to pick a side between Kesha and Dr. Luke, it started to become more an issue of her being “annoyed” at BOTH parties!

Katy Perry revealed exactly how she felt (below):

“[I was] pissed off that she would bring me into it in this way, and annoyed at both Luke and Kesha … He knows I’m a tie breaker, because when I say that I wasn’t raped, because I was not, that means that someone’s lying. And I want to stay out of it because I know them both and I empathize with both of them and obviously it’s a horrible situation for both of them. And the only two people that know what really went on are those two people. But Luke was using me as a pawn because it’s a good play.”

Wow!!!

That’s a lot to take in!
