Selena Gomez Says New Album Won't Have Sad Songs: "It Just Doesn't Match Where I Am"

New Selena Gomez music has arrived! On Aug. 25, the 31-year-old singer dropped her highly-anticipated song, "Single Soon," and it's definitely the perfect track to wrap up summer. In the accompanying video - which pays tribute to Sarah Jessica Parker's "Sex and the City" character, Carrie Bradshaw - Gomez is shown having a fun night out on the town with her girlfriends after breaking up with her partner.

On June 13, the singer teased her fourth album in a series of black and white photos that pictured her behind a mic. "Don't worry guys, it's coming. Even from Paris," Gomez captioned an Instagram carousel, hinting that new music was on the way. She finally confirmed speculation on Aug. 17 when she announced her next single. She wrote on Instagram, "Y'all have been asking for new music for a while. Since I'm not quite done with SG3, I wanted to put out a fun little song I wrote a while back that's perfect for the end of summer. SINGLE SOON. August 25th. Presave it now. 😘." It's unclear if "Single Soon" will appear on her upcoming album "SG3," a follow-up to 2020's "Rare."

Gomez previously discussed her many projects in a May 2022 appearance on the "Crew Call" podcast with "Only Murders in the Building" cocreator John Hoffman. During the interview, Gomez revealed that her return to television - including her role on the murder-mystery series and hosting gig on "Selena + Chef" - hasn't stopped her from creating new music. She said, "I just finished season four of my cooking show and I am in LA working on my album now."

"I'm so used to writing sad-girl songs because I'm good at that, but I'm ready to have some fun, and I think people are going to like it."

In July 2022, Gomez teased fans by sharing a TikTok video of herself in the recording studio. "New," she captioned it. A few months later, in December 2022, Gomez made an appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," where she confirmed fan speculation about her upcoming album. "Mm-hmm, that's accurate. Finally," she replied when Fallon asked if her "My Mind & Me" single was an indication of new music to come. "I'm so used to writing sad-girl songs because I'm good at that, but I'm ready to have some fun, and I think people are going to like it." Gomez also revealed that she's been hard at work in the studio at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City.

In 2021, Gomez hinted at "retiring" from music to give herself an opportunity to pursue other passions. "I think there are a lot of people who enjoy my music, and for that I'm so thankful, for that I keep going, but I think the next time I do an album it'll be different," Gomez said in her Vogue 2021 cover story. "I want to give it one last try before I maybe retire music."

The forthcoming album will be Gomez's first solo release since her 2021 Spanish EP, "Revelación." In August 2020, the singer also released an "Ice Cream" collab with K-pop giant Blackpink. She followed the sweet single with "999," a 2021 collab with Camilo, and "Let Somebody Go," a 2022 collab with Coldplay. With so many great musical partnerships under her belt, we fully expect some badass artists to land features on the new album.

During the "Crew Call" interview, D'Alessandro also questioned whether Gomez would consider a singing scene in "Only Murders in the Building," to which the star replied, "I want to be kind of careful. I love being Mabel and I love that she's an extension of me but she isn't necessarily me. Sometimes my worry - not to say that I'm opposed to it in any way, shape, or form - is that it might turn into a pop-star thing, and that's clearly not me. [But] I'm not opposed."

Find out more about Gomez's upcoming album ahead.

Prince Harry Surprises Fans at "Heart of Invictus" Screening: "It's Nice to Be Back in San Diego"

Prince Harry made a surprise appearance at a screening of his new Netflix docuseries, "Heart of Invictus," in Chula Vista, CA, on Aug. 28. "You guys get to see 'Heart of Invictus,' which has been the last two years in the making, sooner than anybody else," the Duke of Sussex told the audience, per an Instagram video shared by author GraceAnn Skidmore. "So it'll be coming out on Wednesday. You guys get to watch it tonight, or at least two episodes [to] sort of whet the appetite for the rest of it. But it's nice to be back in San Diego."

Harry watched the documentary, which is streaming now on Netflix, alongside service members from the Navy Wounded Warrior Program. "It was such an honor to sit with the population we serve and watch 'Heart of Invictus' together," Marcus Pace, veteran and regional program director of the Navy Wounded Warrior Program, Navy Region Southwest, said in a statement on Instagram. "It gave us moments of hope, especially knowing many of them are in some of the most difficult times of their lives. But more than anything, it was an evening about community for our wounded warriors and being around other service members going through the same thing."

"Heart of Invictus" follows a group of competitors as they prepare for the 2022 Invictus Games in The Hague, Netherlands. Harry founded the Games in 2014 after serving in Afghanistan, and his goal was to use sports to help aid the physical, psychological, and social recovery of active-duty soldiers and veterans. It's also where Harry and Meghan Markle made their public debut as a couple in 2017.

In the five-part series, Harry reflects on poignant moments in his life following his return from war in 2008, which inspired him to launch the Games. "The trigger for me was actually returning from Afghanistan, but the stuff that was coming up was from 1997, from the age of 12," he says, referencing his mother Princess Diana's death. "Losing my mum at such a young age, the trauma that I had, I was never really aware of. It was never discussed; I didn't really talk about it, and I suppressed it like most youngsters would have done."

Harry is currently gearing up for the 2023 Games, which will be taking place in Düsseldorf, Germany, from Sept. 9 to Sept. 16.

6 Books Becoming Movies This Year - and 8 You Can Already Watch

If you love books as much as you love movies, then 2023 has been a very big year for you! As much fun as it is to imagine our favorite book characters in our own minds, it's equally thrilling to see books made into movies.

2023's slate of books making the transition to the big screen includes a wide range of stories, from new takes on iconic classics to adaptations of relatively recent bestsellers. The coming-of-age favorite "Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret" hit theaters this spring. The recent string of Agatha Christie adaptations continues with the eerie "A Haunting in Venice," plus Alice Walker's seminal "The Color Purple" is getting a fresh take, translating the award-winning Broadway musical adaptation into a film musical. And, of course, we've got the would-be blockbusters, including the "Hunger Games" prequel, "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes." Unfortunately, the one book-to-screen adaptation we'll have to wait a little longer for is "Dune: Part II", which was delayed to 2024 amid the ongoing actors' strike.

As for on-screen book adaptations, there's really something for everyone in 2023's list of attractions. Ahead, take a look at the most-anticipated stories making the leap from the page to the screen in 2023 - and eight that you can watch right now.

What We Know About Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi's Upcoming Wedding

Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi recently got engaged, which means wedding planning is officially underway. After initially meeting via Instagram DMs, the young couple went public with their romance two years ago,. Apparently, things just clicked between them from the start. "After we met we knew we never wanted to leave each other's side," Brown told The Sunday Times on Aug. 27. "You can't pinpoint why, it's just the feeling of knowing that that's the person you want to spend the rest of your time with. I think so much of life is overthinking. The one thing that made clear sense to me was him. So I didn't really have to do much thinking."

In April, Bongiovi, who's the son of singer Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Hurley, popped the big question to the "Stranger Things" star with a gorgeous engagement ring. "I've loved you three summers now, honey, I want 'em all," Brown captioned their engagement announcement, quoting lyrics from Taylor Swift's "Lover."

Two months after Bongiovi proposed, the pair celebrated with an intimate engagement party with family and friends. On June 1, Brown's hairstylist and makeup artist offered a glimpse at the soirée on Instagram, sharing photos of the couple posing next to a "Mr. and Mrs. Bongiovi" sign.

"I feel it's important to keep those things, those small precious moments in life, really close to your chest."

Aside from a few loved-up snaps on social media, Brown and Bongiovi have kept their relationship relatively private and continue to do so as they prepare to say "I do." In an interview with WWD published on Aug. 14, Brown said wedding planning thus far is "so fun" and "such an exciting time in my life," though she didn't divulge any specific details. She shared her intention to keep plans under wraps, "just because there are only so many moments in life that you get only once." She added, "To have everyone's opinions and eyes looking at that just feels unnatural to me. So I feel it's important to keep those things, those small precious moments in life, really close to your chest."

While details of their wedding remain scarce, keep reading for everything we do know about the couple's upcoming nuptials so far.

The 15 Best Action Movies on Hulu Right Now

When it comes to entertainment, there's a reason why the action genre produces some of the best-selling movies. Being constantly exhilarating; jam-packed with fast-paced cars, guns, and fight scenes; and that they're minimally thought-provoking are universal components that make action movies beloved by audiences across generations. These types of movies are also popular thanks to the fact that the genre often overlaps with others, such as comedy, science fiction, adventure, and romance.

Over the years, action movies have simultaneously grown into blockbuster giants and direct-to-streamer favorites. Among the big streaming platforms out there, Hulu has an extensive library of action flicks, ranging from originals like "Boss Level" featuring Oscar-winning actor Michelle Yeoh to mainstream flicks like "Die Hard." Choosing from the vast collection of available flicks on Hulu can be a struggle, so if you're looking to sit back and enjoy some old-fashioned action movies, here are our top picks!

Breaking Down the Easter Eggs in Selena Gomez’s New Song, "Single Soon"

Between "Only Murders in the Building" and "Selena + Chef" on Max, Selena Gomez has understandably put making music on a bit of hold - until now, that is. On Aug. 25, the 31-year-old singer released her newest single, "Single Soon," a summery pop song that fans are already praising for its fun beat and empowering lyrics.

Gomez announced the song drop a full week before its release via Instagram, noting that fans have been wanting new music for some time. "Y'all have been asking for new music for a while," she wrote. "Since I'm not quite done with SG3, I wanted to put out a fun little song I wrote a while back that's perfect for the end of summer. SINGLE SOON. August 25th. Presave it now. 😘."

Gomez's forthcoming "SG3" will be her first full album since 2020's "Rare" and the Grammy-winning "Revelación," which she released in 2021. Though details of the upcoming project are limited, Gomez did explain to Vanity Fair in February that it will explore freedom and empowerment, a core theme in "Single Soon." She explained, "The music I'm doing right now is about real things that I'm walking through. It's really powerful, strong, very pop. The theme generally is freedom - freedom from relationships, freedom from the darkness."

Outside of the beat and lyrics, "Single Soon" also has a fun music video that stars Gomez embracing single life with a group of friends. The music video is mostly straightforward, but fans have already noticed a few Easter eggs sprinkled throughout.

Ahead is a breakdown of all the Easter eggs and hidden messages in "Single Soon."

Easter Eggs in the "Single Soon" Music Video

"Sex and the City"

Gomez's most obvious Easter egg in the "Single Soon" video is the connection to the beloved HBO series, "Sex and the City." The beginning of the video features Gomez writing, "I'm sorry, I can't. Please don't hate me" on a Post-It note, a direct reference to the season six episode "The Post-It Always Sticks Twice." In the episode, Carrie's new-ish boyfriend, Jack Berger, breaks up with her via a Post-It note. Carrie is understandably furious and upset, despite her wanting to break up with him first. The Easter eggs don't stop there, though.

Throughout the video, three friends accompany Gomez to dinner and a club, which arguably is a nod to Carrie and her three friends: Miranda, Samantha, and Charlotte, who go to various dinner and club outings with one another throughout the series. The themes of "Sex and the City" and "Single Soon" also parallel one another, as the premise of both is female empowerment and freedom through being single, casually dating, and exploring sexuality.

Lastly, Gomez embraced her inner Samantha in an Instagram video from Aug. 23, in which she lip-synced an iconic scene between Samantha and her married fling, Ken. After answering the phone, Samantha says, "Hello?" and Ken replies, "It's over. I told my wife," to which she utters, "Who is this?"

Selena Gomez's Viral TikTok

Another small Easter egg in the music video is a reference to a Tik Tok from Gomez herself that she shared in June. The video, which has over 14 million likes, shows Gomez sitting in the grass watching men play soccer. She jokingly yells, "I'm single! I'm just a little high maintenance, but I'll love you so much!" In "Single Soon," the singer briefly incorporates this funny moment on the TV screen shown in the beginning of her music video.

Selena Gomez's Relationship With The Weeknd

Gomez famously dated The Weeknd for 10 months in 2017. The pair's relationship was highly documented, from sweet Instagram posts to PDA at the Met Gala, but it eventually came to an end in October 2017. "She and Abel have been going back and forth for a few months about their relationship. It's been hard with him being on tour and her shooting in New York. That wasn't easy on them," a source told People at the time.

Gomez's high-profile relationship with The Weeknd may have found its way into "Single Soon," with two lines of lyrics that allude to one of the singer's most popular songs, "Save Your Tears." The lyrics read, "I don't wanna see a tear / And the weekend's almost here." The proximity of "tear" and "weekend" definitely seems like a solid Easter egg.

It's also worth noting that Gomez places the Post-It note on top of an Xbox controller, and Gomez famously posted a video of The Weeknd showing her how to play video games when they were dating.

Selena Gomez's Possible Dark Era

The beginning of the music video shows Gomez writing the Post-It note as the camera pans around her house and shows a wall full of drawings. The drawings include a handful of scary imagery, such as the Grim Reaper, a couple of devils, and an aggressive dog. One fan on Twitter made the connection between the drawings and a "Dark Era" for the artist, writing, "are these easter eggs?? is the dark era really coming?? I THINK."

People Are Apparently Buying All the Tickets to Fyre Festival 2

Pack your water bottles, because a second Fyre Festival seems to be in the works. On Aug. 20, Billy McFarland, the organizer behind the original failed event, revealed that tickets for a second installment of the festival were on sale for $499 apiece in an Instagram video. He also said the event was scheduled for December 2024.

Just two days later, McFarland claimed that the festival had sold out entirely. However, event's website claims more tickets are "coming soon," though they'll cost between $799 and $7,999 each.

Not many details or specifics about the second Fyre Festival are available, and the website merely says that the festival will take place somewhere in "The Caribbean." Meanwhile, in 2022, the Bahamas Tourism Industry said it would "not endorse or approve any event" on the islands "associated with" McFarland, per NBC.

Speculation about a second Fyre Festival began to swirl when McFarland shared a series of cryptic tweets on April 9 teasing a follow-up. "Fyre Festival II is finally happening," the disgraced entrepreneur said. "Tell me why you should be invited."

Of course, if the first Fyre Festival is anything to go by, the experience probably will not be worth anything close to the price. Taking place in the Bahamas in 2017, the first Fyre Festival promised a luxury experience of a lifetime. The event, cofounded by rapper Ja Rule, was also meant to promote McFarland's music-booking app of the same name. Models and influencers, including Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski, famously appeared in its social media marketing campaign. It's since been well documented that Fyre Festival fell apart, leaving many attendees stranded with little food and shelter. The festival inspired two documentaries: "Fyre" on Netflix, and "Fyre Fraud" on Hulu.

McFarland later received a six-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to wire fraud, and was released in March 2022. Despite his jail time, it seems he's still determined to get Fyre right. "Going to crush the island version first, but @elonmusk Fyre 3 definitely needs to be in space," he also tweeted on April 9.

Ja Rule previously teased the possibility of hosting another Fyre Festival, although it's unclear if he'll be working with McFarland again this time around. "I'm not ashamed of Fyre at all. Because man, the idea, it was brilliant," he told TMZ in 2019. "It is the most iconic festival that never was. I have plans to create the iconic festival, but you didn't hear that from me."

34 Times Adam Sandler and His Wife Jackie Showed Off Their Love

Adam Sandler is best known for his comedic roles, but if there's one thing he's serious about, it's his wife, Jackie. The couple first met on the set of his 1999 film "Big Daddy" and have pretty much been inseparable since. The Sandlers eventually tied the knot in 2003 and have since welcomed two daughters, Sunny, 14, and Sadie, 17 - both of whom star in Netflix's "You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah" with the couple.

Through the years, Adam and Jackie have given fans some sweet glimpses of their longtime romance. On June 22, Adam celebrated their wedding anniversary on Instagram by posting a photo from their wedding day, writing, "Happy 20th my sweet Jackie! Your 'I do' was the best gift of my life." He continued, "My heart has been yours since the first second I saw you and I love and appreciate your devoted soul more and more each day. Us. The kids. Lets keep going and going babe. Lots of love to give you. Always."

The pair often attend red carpets and events together, and Jackie was, of course, there to celebrate her husband as he received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on March 19. In her speech at the event, Jackie said that it was "love at first sight" for her, per The Washington Post. "I would like to celebrate the real Adam," she added. "The Pepto Bismol-chugging. . .air conditioning-blasting . . . backyard-peeing. . . disrupter. And, yes, he's just as funny in real life as he is in the movies . . . And he's just as good in bed as you've all imagined for so long. Adam, whether you're awake or not, it's always fantastic."

The couple also seem to like to show off their love for each other on social media, and for the anniversary of their first meeting in July 2020, Adam shared a tribute for Jackie on Instagram, writing, "22 years ago today we locked eyes and fell deep. Look forward to the next 22, young lady. Love you my forever girl."

When they're not celebrating each other at events or online, they're teaming up together on the big screen. Jackie has appeared in quite a few of Adam's films, including "Murder Mystery," "Just Go With It," "Grown Ups," and "50 First Dates." She even has a small role in Netflix's "The Wrong Missy," which Adam's Happy Madison company produced.

Ahead, see some of their cutest moments over the years.

Britney Spears Addresses Her Split From Sam Asghari: "It's Honestly Nobody's Business"

On Aug. 18, Britney Spears addressed her split from Sam Asghari for the first time. The pop star shared her statement via her Instagram, where she explained that she "couldn't take the pain" anymore. News broke on Aug. 16 that the pair were separating after one year of marriage.

"As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together," Spears wrote. "6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I'm a little shocked but … I'm not here to explain why because its honestly nobody's business!!!"

She continued, "I couldn't take the pain anymore honestly !!! In some sort of telepathic way I have been receiving so many messages that melt my heart from friends and I thank you !!! I've been playing it strong for way too long and my Instagram may seem perfect but it's far from reality and I think we all know that !!!"

Spears added that she wished she could share her emotions more freely, but due to her life in the spotlight, she said she had been taught to be a "strong soldier." The "...Baby One More Time" singer also referenced her 13 years in conservatorship, and the impact it had on her ability to freely express herself. Ultimately, Spears maintained that she's doing well under the circumstances.

"So I will be as strong as I can and do my best !!!" she wrote. "And I'm actually doing pretty damn good !!! Anyways have a good day and don't forget to smile !!!"

The singer's statement comes just one day after Asghari addressed filing for divorce in his own Instagram Story. "After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together," Asghari wrote. "We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always. Sh*t happens."

He added, "Asking for privacy seems rediculous [sic] so I will just ask for everyone including media to be kind and thoughtful."

Marcus Jordan Hints at Engagement to Larsa Pippen

Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan just might be headed to the altar. On Aug. 16, 32-year-old Marcus, who is Michael Jordan's second-oldest child, told a TMZ videographer while leaving a West Hollywood restaurant that a wedding was "in the works" for him and 49-year-old Pippen. "We're looking for a location," he added.

Pippen and Marcus were first linked in September 2022, and they made things Instagram official in January. Since then, they've posted a number of cute photos together. In several recent pictures, Pippen appears to be wearing a large ring on her left ring finger, hinting that Marcus may have popped the question already.

In July 2023, though, their relationship made waves when a TMZ photographer asked Michael if he approved of his son's relationship with Pippen. "No," Michael replied. Marcus and Pippen later addressed his father's comment in a July episode of their podcast "Separation Anxiety with Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan," and Marcus clarified that his dad's statement was a joke. "I know my dad, and obviously my whole family, we're so competitive. Part of our DNA is to talk sh*t - it gets us going and gets us motivated," he said. "And when I saw it immediately I thought, 'He's playing. He's joking, he's laughing. He's just being playful.'" Meanwhile, Pippen admitted that she was "embarrassed" by the whole thing, while Marcus insisted that his dad has nothing against them as a couple.

Before dating Marcus, Pippen was married to NBA star Scottie Pippen, who was Michael's teammate for nearly 10 years during their time playing for the Chicago Bulls. She shares three children with Scottie, whom she separated from in 2016, according to E! News.

Stevie Nicks Just Threw Her Support Behind a "Daisy Jones and the Six" Season 2

Fans who fell in love with the Amazon Prime Video series adaptation of the Taylor Jenkins Reid book "Daisy Jones & The Six" - which wrapped up airing its 10 episodes in March - have already been discussing the possibility of a second season. And it seems the cast, creators, and even the inspiration behind the show, Stevie Nicks, are on board.

While we wait to hear more about the show's future, read ahead to see what all the key players have said about a possible season two so far.

"Daisy Jones and the Six" Cast Quotes About a Possible Season 2

"It would be so nice to do a season two," Suki Waterhouse, who plays Karen in the series, told E! News at the Revolve Festival at Coachella on April 17. "I would love that. We just have to figure out the story."

Waterhouse also admitted that the cast have a few thoughts of their own about the direction it could go in. "We have a lot of silly ideas," she said. "I guess it could be a reunion tour." Waterhouse, who is currently filming an unspecified project with "Daisy Jones & The Six" costar Sam Claflin added, "We are all actively talking about it, and I heard just in my own camp that people really want us to go on tour, like in a very serious way."

"Daisy Jones and the Six"'s Producers' Quotes About a Possible Season 2

Lauren Neustadter, one of the producers behind the show, shared her thoughts about a possible second season in an interview with Variety published on Aug. 12. "If any time Amazon came to us and said, 'What would it be?' we would put our little thinking caps on about it," she said. Lauren's husband, Scott Neustadter (who's also one of the writers of the show), added, "It's super fun to sit and talk to Taylor for hours about where we think we could take this next. It was a calculated move to move [the flash forwards] to their 40s. There's a lot of life left to live, so there could be a future."

They also shared that there were even some plans to stage a real "Daisy Jones and the Six" concert, but they were scrapped amid the SAG-AFTRA strike. Still, the Neustadters hope they can make it happen down the line. "We're not giving up," Lauren added. "I believe they will perform. The question is when."

Taylor Jenkins Reid's Quotes About "Daisy Jones and the Six" Season 2

The author behind the "Daisy Jones" book is seemingly on the same page as everyone else. "I think we're in a really fortunate position where we have a story that is final, and has an ending that feels really good," Reid told Variety back in March. "I would only open that back up if it felt like there was a story here that we have to tell. Have I been thinking about what that is? I certainly have."

The series certainly garnered a loyal fanbase, but some fans picked up on the many changes made to Reid's original story. While some alterations - like Simone's beefed-up role - were welcomed with open arms, others received mixed reviews (mainly, that kiss between Billy and Daisy). Still, while fans might not love all the changes, they may have opened the door for a second season of the show, whereas the book neatly wraps things up.

Reid said to Variety that she was OK with the direction Amazon took with her novel, admitting she never expected the series to be a one-to-one copy. "I don't think I've ever wanted someone to go film my book exactly as it is," she said in that same March interview. "Here's a new version of this story. Here are new versions of this song. Here's a new way to enjoy this. Hopefully, my readers will feel like they're finding the things that they loved about it, but also that it is something different. I like that it's different. I don't feel the need to compare them quite the same way as I have seen some people do."

The only requirement Reid had when handing over the rights to her story was that the creators didn't change one core aspect of the story: Daisy and Camila must not compete with each other. "I was clear that this is about women, first and foremost, that are not in competition with each other," Reid explained of her early conversations with the show's producers. "I knew that it meant the same thing to me that it meant to them."

While the "Daisy Jones & The Six" book ends pretty conclusively, with the characters all aged into their mid-60s, that's not the case with the show. The documentary that facilitates the narrative is filmed 20 years after the band's rise to fame in the '70s, which means they're significantly younger. So the possibility of a second season is real.

The idea of getting the show's amazing cast back together makes the prospect of a second season even more appealing to Reid. "To see the performances that you have from this cast, and specifically Riley [Keough] and Sam [Claflin], and be willing to walk away from that without asking yourself whether you could give them another opportunity to dig into these characters would be very silly," she continued. "I'm not so stupid as to not recognise what we have in the two of them. So it's definitely on my mind."

Fleetwood Mac's frontmen Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham's volatile real-life relationship inspired some aspects of "Daisy Jones & The Six," and their story certainly didn't end with Fleetwood Mac's first breakup, so the possibilities here are endless.

Fleetwood Mac's Quotes About "Daisy Jones and the Six" Season 2

One of the inspirations behind "Daisy Jones," Nicks, weighed in with her feelings about the show on Twitter on Aug. 15, writing, "Just finished watching @daisyjonesand6 for the 2nd time. In the beginning, it wasn't really my story, but Riley seamlessly, soon became my story. It brought back memories that made me feel like a ghost watching my own story. It was very emotional for me."

She went on to hint that she'd like to see a season two happen while remembering her late bandmate, Christine McVie, who died in November 2022. Nicks wrote, "I just wish Christine could have seen it. She would have loved it. Hopefully it will continue."

Perhaps Nicks would be open to participating in a second season in some way? Fans of the show can only hope!

Was "The Blind Side" a Lie? Michael Oher's Lawsuit Explained

"The Blind Side," which netted Sandra Bullock an Oscar in 2010 for her portrayal of Leigh Anne Tuohy, is framed as an inspirational true story about how Leigh Anne and her husband, Sean Tuohy, adopted a young athlete named Michael Oher who was struggling with homelessness and helped him achieve his football dreams.

But Oher is alleging that a key aspect of the film's plot was a lie. On Aug. 14, per The New York Times, Oher, now a retired NFL athlete, petitioned a Tennessee court to terminate his legal relationship with the Tuohy family. In the petition, he claimed that the family never actually adopted him but instead urged him to enter a conservatorship, allowing them to profit off his life story.

What Are the Allegations in Michael Oher's Lawsuit?

Oher's petition alleges that the family tricked him into a conservatorship when he was 18 years old, instead of legally adopting him, which allowed them to make business deals in his name. Now, Oher is seeking to end the conservatorship. He is also petitioning to prevent the Tuohys from using his name and likeness and to receive profits he claims he is owed from the movie.

"Michael trusted the Tuohys and signed where they told him to sign," the petition alleges, per CNN. "What he signed, however, and unknown to Michael until after February 2023, were not adoption papers, or the equivalent of adoption papers."

The petition claims that the Tuohys negotiated a contract with 20th Century Fox for "The Blind Side" that awarded them $225,000 for the use of Oher's story, as well as 2.5 percent of all "defined net proceeds" for themselves and their biological children only. The movie generated more than $300 million, and per NPR, the lawsuit alleges that while Tuohys made millions off the film, Oher never received any payment. Sean and his son, Sean Tuohy Jr., have both denied that the family's earnings ever approached the millions.

Additionally, the petition claims that Oher allegedly signed a "Life Story Right Agreement" in 2007, per AP News, which endowed 20th Century Fox with the "perpetual, unconditional and exclusive right throughout the world to use and portray Michael Oher's name, likeness, voice, appearance, personality, personal experiences, incidents, situations and events based upon or taken from Michael Oher's life story." According to AP News, Oher's petition claims that "he at no time ever willingly or knowingly signed this document and that nobody ever presented this contract to him with any explanation that he was signing such a document, or any document concerning his rights to his name, image, and life story, to Fox or anybody else."

Reps for Sean, Leigh Anne, Sean Tuohy Jr., and Oher did not immediately respond to POPSUGAR's request for comment.

Has the Tuohy Family Responded to Michael Oher's Lawsuit?

The same day the lawsuit was filed, Sean told The Daily Memphian that he was "devastated" by the news, and claimed that it was "upsetting to think we would make money off any of our children." He also claimed that everyone in his family, including Oher, received an initial payment of $14,000 from the film. He also said that the reason he had Oher sign onto a conservatorship instead of adopting him was that he was told that Tennessee did not allow people over 18 to be adopted, though the state does, in fact, permit adult adoptions. He also said he would be willing to end the conservatorship.

Sean Tuohy Jr., the Tuohys' biological son, also addressed the filing in an interview with Barstool Sports on Aug. 14, claiming that while he understands Oher's frustrations, the family did not make millions off the film. "Man, if I had $2 million in my bank account, it would be in my email signature and say, 'Signed, SJ Tuohy, multi-millionaire,'" he said on the podcast.

On Aug. 15, the Tuohy family's attorney Marty Singer released a statement obtained by POPSUGAR that alleges that prior to filing the petition, Oher reportedly demanded that the family pay him $15 million or he would "plant a negative story about them in the press." The statement, first shared with TMZ, also claimed the family had been "upfront about how a conservatorship . . . was established" and added that Oher had "tried to run this play" before.

Has Michael Oher Spoken Out Against "The Blind Side" Before?

Oher's filing marks the first time he has taken legal action against the Tuohys, but he has previously expressed discomfort with "The Blind Side"'s portrayal of him. In a 2015 interview with ESPN, he said he felt the movie downplayed his intelligence. "People look at me and they take things away from me because of a movie," Oher said. "They don't really see the skills and the kind of player I am. That's why I get downgraded so much, because of something off the field." He also said the movie created unrealistic expectations about his football skills. "This stuff, calling me a bust, people saying if I can play or not . . . that has nothing to do with football," he added. "It's something else off the field. That's why I don't like that movie.''

He also addressed the lawsuit on Aug. 14 after it began making headlines. "I am disheartened by the revelation shared in the lawsuit today. This is a difficult situation for my family and me," he told People. "I want to ask everyone to please respect our privacy at this time. For now, I will let the lawsuit speak for itself and will offer no further comment."

Oher played football at the University of Mississippi and was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2009. He retired from the NFL in 2017.
