Stars Shower Britney Spears With Love After Jamie's Conservatorship Suspension
Following the suspension of Jamie Spears from Britney Spears's conservatorship, the singer has received a huge outpouring of love and support from fellow stars across the industry. The pop star and her dedicated fanbase finally saw a major turn of events surrounding her conservatorship on Wednesday after Judge Brenda Penny ruled that Jamie be immediately removed from the conservatorship that's been in place since 2008. "The current situation is not tenable," Judge Penny said during the court hearing. As a result, Britney's attorney, Mathew Rosengart, is now pushing for the conservatorship to be terminated this fall.
Britney herself wasn't present at the court hearing, but she, like others on social media, took a moment to celebrate the big win by posting an Instagram video of herself flying an airplane for the first time ever. "On cloud 9 right now," she captioned it. Now that the narrative around Britney has finally begun to shift in her favor, many of her supporters are marking this as a victory in the pop star's long-standing battle. Even her fiancé, Sam Asghari, shared several celebratory posts on his Instagram feed and Stories to applaud the verdict. Keep reading to see how other stars reacted to the news in full support of Britney.

Before He Wrote Songs, Maluma Helped Friends Out With Love Poems: "I Should Do This For a Living"
Long before the fame and accolades, Maluma developed his writing skills by penning love poems on behalf of his friends. (Why are we not surprised?) The singer recently spoke about the "start" of his career on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and how it was the success of his love poems that made him realize he could have a future in songwriting: "I saw all the relationships that my friends had. They were working out with my poems, with my letters." He thought at the time, "Sh*t. I should do this for a living." Maluma added, "Then I started composing music and here we are." Everything to Know About After We Fell, the Third Book in Anna Todd's Series
If you thought After We Collided ended on a cliffhanger, just wait until you get a load of After We Fell, the third book in Anna Todd's After series. Can't wait for the film adaption to find out what happens next? No worries, we have all the sexy and shocking spoilers ahead.
After We Fell kicks off with Tessa on the cusp of unveiling her exciting news to Hardin about moving to Seattle for a big opportunity with Vance Publishing. But first, she needs to face a piece of her past: her father. Tessa is eager to reconnect with her father, who she hasn't seen in nine years, but protective boyfriend Hardin raises some pretty rightful concerns.
She brushes off Hardin's warnings and invites her dad over for dinner. As we find out throughout book three, Tessa's dad has been getting mixed up in the wrong crowd while also developing a heavy drug addiction. Seeing how Hardin's dad, Chancellor Scott, was able to straighten up his life, Tessa hopes she can help her own dad do the same. But as secrets of the past begin to unravel, there's not much hope for Mr. Young.
Meanwhile, Landon has decided to relocate to New York to be with his longtime girlfriend. (Yes, Landon; you go!) And despite finally kissing Tessa, then getting his butt kicked by Hardin on school property and winding up in the hospital, Zed still won't give up on the idea of dating Tessa.
When the group finds out about Tessa's Seattle news, they throw her a going-away party . . . which is really just a coverup for Steph's evil plan to embarrass and hurt Tessa. Steph drugs Tessa's drink and coaxes her into an empty room. There, she confesses that she despises Tessa and that it wasn't Zed who stole Hardin's phone and texted her on his birthday. Further, she brings Hardin's former friend, Dan, into the room and while filming everything, prompts him to assault Tessa, who is borderline unconscious.
Aware of what's happening in a room nearby, Molly notifies Hardin, but Zed beats him to the punch and rescues Tessa before things get much, much worse. Considering Molly (who used to hook up with Hardin) and Tessa have never really gotten along, it's a big deal that she would have her back over her friend Steph's.
The rest of After We Fell focuses on Hardin trying to earn back Tessa's trust, a big theme throughout the series. Hardin teams up with Landon to try to get Tessa's father help, and he even reaches out to her mother for advice. Although his efforts seem to have won Tessa back, her guard is up. Not to mention, Zed is lurking in the background waiting for Hardin's temper to get the best of him so he can swoop in. It's a clusterf*ck to say the least.
And because Anna Todd is the queen of cliffhanger endings, After We Fell wraps up with a shocker: Hardin learns his mother has been having a long-term affair dating back to when she originally got together with Hardin's father. She's secretly been seeing Christian Vance, his father's best friend, and Vance is Hardin's biological father!

7 of the Biggest Takeaways From Netflix's Britney Vs. Spears Documentary
Britney Spears's life has been under a microscope for years now, and the public's deep dive into the complexities of her conservatorship have led to the making of several documentary films. Most recently, Netflix released their investigative film, Britney Vs. Spears, in an attempt to shed more light on the singer's conservatorship and her quest for freedom. The film, which is directed and produced by Erin Lee Carr, shows how Carr and journalist Jenny Eliscu dug through the tangled history of the 13-year conservatorship, exposing key players and shocking revelations.
Though some of the people mentioned in the making of the film seemed to have close, genuine connections to Spears, the documentary itself falls in line with some of the other projects that the pop star has previously objected to. Earlier this week, she took to her Instagram page to address some of the "drama" that has been exposed in these documentaries, which Spears says she tries to stay away from.
The new Netflix film also comes right on the heels of Spears's latest court hearing being held on Sept. 29, which will hopefully decide whether or not her father will remain in place as her conservator and if the conservatorship will in fact end once and for all.
Ahead, read some of the bombshell details from Britney Vs. Spears, available to stream on Netflix now.

Sad On My Block Is Ending? Don’t Worry, Netflix Ordered a Spinoff Called Freeridge
If you're an On My Block fan and thought this fourth and final season was the last you'd see of the California town that the coming-of-age comedy-drama is set in, we have good news: Netflix has ordered a straight-to-series spinoff based on On My Block, called Freeridge.
Although this female-driven comedy is named after the fictitious town On My Block is set in, Freeridge will feature an entirely new cast who will explore an unseen side of the inner-city neighborhood. The story will center around this new group of friends who, according to Deadline, "may or may not have unleashed a deadly curse."
Coming over from the original On My Block team are co-creators Eddie Gonzalez, Lauren Iungerich, and Jeremy Haft, who are credited with co-creator recognition on Freeridge. Alongside that team of three are On My Block writers Jamie Uyeshiro and Jamie Dooner who will help out with fleshing out the show's plot and characters. Uyeshiro, Gonzalez and Haft will also serve as showrunners and executive producers on Freeridge.
On My Block, features quartet Monse (Sierra Capri), Jamal (Brett Gray), Ruby (Jason Genao), and Cesar (Diego Tinoco) as they navigate friendship and teenage growing pains in their South Central LA neighborhood and high school. The single-cam show also touches on deeper themes like race dynamics, death, violence, and PTSD throughout its four seasons.
Although it hasn't been confirmed, Freeridge could also touch on similar topics and storylines featured in On My Block should the spinoff follow in its predecessor's footsteps. With a good portion of the original minds behind On My Block at the helm of this new show, this is could be very likely. Regardless, Netflix hasn't announced a timeframe for when Freeridge will start production or when it will premiere, but in the meantime we still have one more exciting season of On My Block premiering on Oct. 4!

Ashanti Is Taking Us Back to the 2000s and Rerecording Her Debut Album: "It's So Surreal"
Ashanti is having one hell of a year! In addition to producing and starring in an upcoming rom-com, turning heads at the MTV VMAs, and going head-to-head with Keyshia Cole in a Verzuz battle and then popping up at Fat Joe and Ja Rule's, the 40-year-old star is also rerecording her 2002 self-titled debut album after officially obtaining her masters.
"It's so surreal."
During a recent appearance on Tamron Hall, Ashanti revealed the exciting news. "It's so surreal," she said. "I have an amazing legal team, and I got my first record deal when I was 14 years old, so understanding and seeing how things have changed so much from then to now and conceptually understanding what you're signing is so imperative, it's so important nowadays." Ashanti will now be rerecording the album as an independent artist.
Ashanti has yet to announce an official release date for the album, so in the meantime, we'll just be over here listening to "Happy," "Baby," and "Foolish" on repeat.

I Could Watch This Talented Sister Trio's Mesmerizing Dance Videos For Hours on End
Next time you're having a bad day, head on over to Norah, Yarah, and Rosa Mukanga's joint Instagram account, and your mood will instantly improve. Collectively known as Let It Happen, the talented trio of sisters have two-stepped and shimmied their way into the social media spotlight, repeatedly going viral for their in-sync dance videos. And when I say in-sync, I mean it to the umpteenth degree. You just might think you're seeing triple while perusing their content.
Twins Norah and Yarah, both 15, and Rosa, 13, grew up dancing together to the R&B and hip-hop music their parents played at home in the Netherlands. It wasn't until three years ago that they chose to brand themselves as Let It Happen, and there's a pretty sweet story behind the moniker. Prior to one of the many international dance contests they've competed in, their father was giving them a motivational speech to quell their nerves when the expression came up. "He said, 'Guys, don't worry, just let it happen!'" Norah recalled to POPSUGAR. "Since that day, we never forgot his words and we started to use the phrase more often. After a while, we thought, 'Why don't we just call our group Let It Happen?' It's kind of our philosophy."

Although Norah, Yarah, and Rosa have a professional dance instructor in Paris (casual!), they choreograph each routine on their own, which makes them all the more impressive. After making their song selection, they typically lock themselves in a training space, listen to the track on repeat a few times, then collaborate to come up with the moves, Rosa explained. Their mom also always helps pick out perfectly color-coordinated outfits before they press "record" and show off their sibling bond and smooth-as-butter footwork with nary a misstep in sight.
"It was pure joy."
The first time their skills garnered global attention was when they danced to James Brown's hit song "Get on the Good Foot" to honor the late Godfather of Soul's birthday. The video raked in millions of views and was even reposted by Brown's official Facebook page, thus increasing their reach. "I don't think that we can express how we felt at that moment," Yarah said. "It was pure joy."
Thank you for sharing this tribute 🙏🏽😭❤️ https://ift.tt/3hSQnCH
Posted by Norah Yarah Rosa "L E T I T H A P P E N" on Thursday, May 7, 2020
As of today, the stylish group's videos have been shared by a bevy of A-listers, including but not limited to Alicia Keys, Viola Davis, Michael B. Jordan, Jennifer Garner, and Janet Jackson. They've appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show not once but twice and virtually performed during Lollapalooza, the Every Vote Counts: A Celebration of Democracy broadcast, and the Disney Channel Summer Sing-Along special. Plus, their social media fame has opened the doors for collaborations with big-name brands like Netflix, Coca-Cola, Nike, Good American, and Moncler, the last of which they noted has been one of their favorites. To say they're booked and busy would be an understatement.
"We give ourselves the time to create and to learn."
Despite the ever-increasing stardom they've deservedly achieved in the last year, Norah, Yarah, and Rosa don't let the pressure of having a huge following get to them. "We are never in a hurry [to share new content]," Norah said. "We give ourselves the time to create and to learn." For now, they are working toward taking their dance careers to the United States and even hope to dabble in film acting one day. No matter what direction their careers go down the line, one thing's for sure: they'll be serving up heaps of joyous energy and undeniable talent.
To add periodic serotonin boosts to your social media feed, be sure to slam that follow button on Norah, Yarah, and Rosa's Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube pages. If you're not already convinced to do so, take a peek at some of their impressive dancing videos, including one featuring Usher!

How I Met Your Father Will Have Some Similarities and a Possible Connection to HIMYM
With the announcement of the TV comedy series How I Met Your Father (HIMYF) came the inevitable question: how closely will this new series starring Hilary Duff be tied to the megahit sitcom How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM)? Fans of the original TV series can give themselves a legendary high five, because HIMYF may have some sort of connection to HIMYM.
In HIMYF, Sophie (Duff) will narrate the story of how she met her son's father - similar to how Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) explains to his kids how he met their mother. The similarities don't stop there, because HIMYF will also follow a group of New York City friends navigating the dating world, their careers, and friendships.
Even though HIMYF does resemble HIMYM, there will be some distinctive differences between the two. For starters, HIMYF will take place in the present, with promises to involve dating apps and social media. With this more modern twist, there's sure to be room for exciting and relatable plot lines.
In addition to this, the cast will be different. Duff will be joined by Francia Raísa, Chris Lowell, Tom Ainsley, Ashley Reyes, and Tien Tran. It's unclear if any of the original cast will be part of the spinoff, but Duff did tease the idea to EW while hinting at script revisions that are aiming to possibly tie both series together. "I don't want to give it all away and the script is definitely being changed a little bit," Duff said. "But it does tie in and, you know, hopefully, we'll have some fun guest appearances from the original cast."
HIMYM, starring Radnor, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris, Alyson Hannigan and Jason Segel, came to an end in 2014 after a nine-season run on CBS. The show's creators, Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, went on to pitch a pilot to CBS titled How I Met Your Dad, but the network passed. In 2021, Hulu placed a straight-to-series order for its concept How I Met Your Father, with Bays and Thomas added as executive producers.
Although an air date hasn't been announced, HIMYF has started filming. So move over, Gossip Girl and And Just Like That - we have a new group of NYC friends to follow!
