Their new bundle of joy comes after several trials and tribulations. Five years ago, Leah was diagnosed with Stage 4 neuroblastoma. At the time, the athlete famously stepped away from the NFL to care for his little girl, but was resigned to the Cincinnati Bengals’ practice team so he could keep his health insurance for Leah’s cancer treatments.
Still opened up about becoming a dad again in an Instagram post this past May, getting candid about how he overcame his fears alongside a photo of his wife baring her baby bump.
“For 3 years I was so scared to bring another child into this world. What if it was my fault Leah had cancer? Is there something wrong with me? What if the baby has health issues as well? The pain of my past kept me mentally imprisoned for years. Until one day I got tired of the lies I was telling myself due to fear.”
“So I broke free and said I’m going to just go for it,” he added. “I’m happy I did because the excitement and joy I have now watching @ashastill carry our creation is truly a blessing that I missed out on for 3 years.”

Two tennis prodigies faced off in a tournament for the first time in a historic match.
Naomi Osaka defeated Coco Gauff 6-3, 6-0 at the Arthur Ashe Stadium during the third round of the U.S. Open on Saturday evening.
“I just want to say, ‘You guys raised an amazing player. I remember seeing you guys training in the same place. I think Coco you’re amazing,’ ” Osaka tearfully said to Gauff’s parents in the stands.
Osaka’s stardom rose after defeating Serena Williams in last year’s Open final. Meanwhile, Gauff, who became the youngest female to advance to the third round in the Open since Anna Kournikova in 1996, first burst onto the scene at Wimbledon when she defeated Venus Williams. Gauff previously practiced with Osaka two years ago at the Miami Open.
“Obviously she’s an amazing player. She’s defending champion. She’s won two slams. She’s No. 1. She’s only 21. We’re both pretty young. But I’m a little bit newer to the game,” Gauff said, according to ESPN. “I just want to enjoy it, have fun, enjoy the battle. We’ll see how it goes.”

The match was also on the radar of Williams, whom both Gauff and Osaka have looked up to.
“I think it’s super exciting tennis,” she told Forbes. “Coco is obviously much, much younger than Naomi, if you could say that, because Naomi is incredibly young. But it’s shocking to say that Coco is about six years younger.”
Williams, 37, added, “I definitely think it’s the future of women’s tennis. And I’m really excited to just be a fangirl and kind of watch.”
For only the second time since retiring, Dale Earnhardt Jr. drove in a race at the Darlington Raceway on Saturday. The Xfinity Series Sport Clips Haircuts VFW 200 at Darlington Raceway came just two weeks after surviving a scary plane crash.
Earnhardt Jr., 44, drove the No. 8 Chevrolet car for JR Motorsports, which was painted in a tribute to his late father, Dale Earnhardt Sr., who won his first Cup Series with the car in 1975.
Earnhardt Jr. placed fifth with Cole Custer winning after Denny Hamlin was disqualified due to a failed post-race inspection.

Ahead of Saturday’s race, Earnhardt Jr. confirmed to fans that the injuries he suffered in the crash wouldn’t affect him driving at Darlington.
He said at the time, “I plan on driving still. My lower back is bruised up real bad. Lots of swelling and I just need that to go down and the pain to chill out. I been treating the area every day solely to get well to race. I have a plan B but hope not to use it.”

Earnhardt Jr. and his wife, Amy Earnhardt, and their young daughter, Isla Rose, were in the fiery plane crash in Tennessee on Aug. 15.
The crash occurred at the Elizabethton Municipal Airport in Elizabethton. “A Cessna Citation rolled off the end of Runway 24 and caught fire after landing at Elizabethton Municipal Airport in Tennessee at 3:40 p.m. today,” an FAA statement read, according to The Tennessean.
An Elizabethton Fire Department official told PEOPLE that Amy, 37, and Dale were transported to the hospital out of an abundance of caution and without serious injuries.

Later, Ralph Hicks, a senior investigator for the National Transportation Safety Board, said in a press conference that “the airplane basically bounced at least twice before coming down hard on the right main landing gear. The airplane continued down the runway off to the end, through a fence and it came to a stop on Highway 91.”

Billie Eilish has found a new bad guy.
The newly minted VMA-winner blasted Nylon Germany this week for posting a photoshopped picture of Eilish that she says she had no idea was going to be published.
In the since-deleted post, Eilish appears on what appears to be a digital cover for the publication. The photo shows Eilish’s likeness, but without any hair (or a shirt, though the photo is only of her shoulders and above) and with her skin appearing metallic.
While the picture no longer appears on Nylon Germany‘s Instagram, they have posted similar photos featuring German social media stars Lisa and Lena, calling their depiction in the caption “digital avatars.”
Eilish’s comments were captured by the Comments by Celebs account, and the “Bad Guy” singer didn’t hold back.
“what the f— is this s—,” Eilish began her comment, going on to list what she found wrong with the picture.
“1. i was never approached by nylon about this piece whatsoever. i did not know it was happening nor did anyone on my team,” she wrote. “2. this is not even a real picture of me. i had absolutely no creative input.”
What Eilish seemed to be most upset about was the fact that she was depicted without a shirt in the photo — and the singer pointed out that she’s still underage at 17.

“3. youre gonna make a picture of me shirtless?? thats not real?? at 17? and make it the cover???? even if the picture was supposed to look like some robot version of me… i did not consent in any way,” she said.
The kicker was the fact that Eilish appeared bald in the photo: “4. ANNNDDD YOU’RE GONNA REMOVE ALL MY FUCKIN HAIR? booooooooooo to you,” she added, topping off the comment with a middle finger emoji.

Nylon did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment, and Nylon Germany could not be reached. However, the American branch of the magazine responded on Twitter, saying that they disagreed with the decision to “appropriate” Eilish’s image.
“Nylon America is a different company than Nylon Germany and we strongly disagree with their decision to appropriate Billie Eilish’s image without her consent. Nylon America is very sorry to Billie and her fans,” the magazine said.
“We love Billie and everything she stands for,” their statement added. “Her message to young women is important and we vow to continue to help spread it appropriately.”
Bebe Rexha is celebrating her birthday in her birthday suit!
The singer, who turned 30 on Friday, shared a racy photo in honor of her milestone year, which shows her doing a split, wearing nothing but a black thong.
The star did the pose as she applied lipstick on a bathroom floor.
“This is what 30 looks like,” Rexha captioned the black-and-white image. “My #BirthdaySuit Self love. Body positivity. Unapologetically me.”
“Pre-show stretch and lipstick application #Not20Anymore,” Rexha added in reference to her latest single, which was inspired by sexist remarks a male music executive recently made about her.

Rexha opened up about the track and turning 30, telling PEOPLE on Thursday, “I was really scared to write a song, like, ‘Hey, I’m 30. I don’t care what anybody says.'”
“All my life, when I ask my mom’s friends, the thing was: ‘Don’t ask a woman her age.’ That’s what I was told all my life. I was talking to my friend, and I really wanted to write about the things I’m scared of, my insecurities, so that’s where it came from,” Rexha explained.
“The songs are a series of things I’m super insecure about: Will I end up being alone? The way that I look. Losing all my friends. Just a whole bunch of things that I’m insecure about that I’ve now made into songs. I’m a drama queen. I love drama.”
As for how she’s dealt with those insecurities, Rexha said, “I think it’s just talking to yourself in a certain way.”
“I can wake up one day and I might feel like s—. Like, I might eat something really bad … Last night I had Thai food and was super bloated. But I woke up and I worked out. I still felt like s— today, but you know what — it’s Madison Square Garden, it’s my birthday coming up, I’ve gotta not let myself get in my head.”

“Because what you feed yourself is what happens. If you’re just negative all day, that’s how your day’s gonna end up. Even if it’s the best day ever, you’re gonna still have that negative sheen over it,” Rexha continued.
“I just force myself to say nice things to myself and ignore the bad thoughts.”

While Valerie Harper struggled in her final months of life, her husband, Tony Cacciotti, was persistent in his eternal support of his wife of 32 years.
Harper, best known for her role as Rhoda Morgenstern on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, died on Friday at the age of 80, PEOPLE confirms, after years of battling health issues including leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, lung cancer and brain cancer.
Her family confirmed to ABC7 that she died 10:06 a.m. The cause of death was not immediately known.
Although Harper’s health slowly began to deteriorate in the past several months, Cacciotti, 78, took it upon himself to ensure that his wife was as comfortable as possible in some of the final moments of her life.
Last month, Cacciotti revealed how doctors had advised that his wife be moved to hospice care amid her battle with cancer.

Despite their professional opinion, Cacciotti said he was not willing to listen to them because of how much he adored Harper and vowed to do what he deemed best for his wife.
“I have been told by doctors to put Val in Hospice care and I can’t and I won’t because of the amazing good deeds she has graced us with while she’s been here on earth,” he wrote in a Facebook post on July 23.
While the couple’s friend Deanna started a GoFundMe on Harper’s behalf over a month before her death, the page, which had raised over $66,100 from Harper’s friends, family, and beloved fans, was shut down after members of the entertainment industry stepped forward to help with Harper’s medical expenses.
“She did so much for so many people and once they heard what was happening, they all started coming forward,” Cacciotti told PEOPLE about the support he and Harper have received. “Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine it would happen like this. It’s really amazing.”
“I just didn’t want to put her into hospice care and now we’re going to be able to keep her here at home,” Cacciotti added. “She’s hanging in there. We have good days and we have tough days.”
The actress was diagnosed with leptomeningeal carcinomatosis in 2013, just four years after she beat lung cancer in 2009. The condition occurs when cancer cells spread into the fluid-filled membrane surrounding the brain, known as the meninges.
At the time of her diagnosis, doctors told her she only had three months to live, but Harper beat the odds and continued to live well beyond their expectations by six years.
Because of how unbelievably rare her story was, Cacciotti refused to give up on his wife.
“We will continue going forward as long as the powers above allow us, I will do my very best in making Val as comfortable as possible,” Cacciotti wrote in the July Facebook post. “There are two special ANGELS on this planet masquerading as humans who live and work together, that have made it possible to have all of Val’s needs taken care of.”
“For those of you who have been in this position, you will totally understand that ‘it’s hard letting go,’” he continued. “So as long as I’m able and capable, I’ll be where I belong right beside her.”
“Many, many thanks for your outpouring of kindness and support,” Cacciotti finished before signing the note with “Tony”.
Harper married Cacciotti, who who was her former fitness advisor, in 1987, nine years after she finalized her divorce with her first husband, actor Richard Schaal.
When she first met Cacciotti, Harper told PEOPLE in 1980, “I thought, ‘What a beautiful, giving teacher.’ Although I’m a feminist and think it’s terrific to call a man if you’re comfortable, I don’t do it. I don’t set my cap for a guy unless he makes the first move.”
They were together until the end and had a daughter, Christina. In 2000, when their daughter was 16, Harper told PEOPLE that the two “have a great relationship so far” — while her husband pointed out that Harper could be a mom even to strangers.
“She talks to everyone at the supermarket,” said Cacciotti, “listens to their problems and tries to solve them.”
In 2014 — one year after she was told she had as little as three months to live — Harper told PEOPLE she was at peace with her diagnosis.
“I’m ready. I’m ready to go,” she said. “Maybe that’s the secret. That I’m absolutely — I don’t want to, my God, I want to live to be 102. … But I am not banking on anything, really, because we shouldn’t. We don’t know what’s around the corner. I think you just take each day and get the best out of it and do what you can and have fun.”
Ed Asner is paying tribute to his late costar and “great friend,” Valerie Harper.
Following the sad news that Harper had died at the age of 80 following a long battle with cancer, Asner honored the actress in a touching statement obtained by PEOPLE.
“Valerie was a brilliant artist with a myriad of ideas on how to make the character more interesting; and was a fighter for those less fortunate,” said Asner, 89.
The actor also shared an emotional post on Twitter, where he called Harper “a beautiful woman, a wonderful actress, a great friend and with balls bigger than mine.”

Harper, who played one of TV’s most popular and enduring characters — the constantly dating, constantly dieting Rhoda Morgenstern — for nearly a decade starting in 1970, died Friday, PEOPLE confirmed.
The star died at 10:06 a.m., her family confirmed to ABC7. Her cause of death was not immediately known.
Harper had been battling a number of health issues over the past few years, including leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, lung cancer and brain cancer.

Jennifer Lopez is showing off her pole dancing skills!
The actress, 50, stars as Ramona, the owner of a bustling strip club who teaches a new recruit, Destiny (Constance Wu), how to swing from a pole in a new clip of the upcoming movie.
“Front hook, ankle hook, knee hook,” Ramona begins, showing Destiny all the ways to grab on to the pole while swinging herself in the air. “You can do carousel, put your head back, come down. You can do Peter Pan, knee hook and just spin.”
Destiny is impressed, saying, “Jesus Christ.”
Along with knowing how to spin, Ramona tells Destiny she expects her to learn how to hold herself still in the air with a “tabletop” move.
“I can’t do that,” Destiny says, to which Ramona replies, “You can do that, you’re gonna do that.”
“What if you don’t have muscles to do that?” Destiny asks.
Ramona says, “You have muscles do to this, every girl has muscles to do this.”
Lopez revealed to Variety in a new interview that she almost turned down the role.
“We were supposed to do it last summer, and I had worked so much,” Lopez said. “I was like, ‘I have to stay home with my kids and Alex .”

Calling the shots about her own career is something Lopez has grown accustomed to over the years.
“I think I’m used to being the boss, which is a weird thing to say out loud,” she said, adding that while she “can be tough,” she’s “not a yeller or a screamer.”

As we celebrate holidays like Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Labor Day, we can't help but think about the vast history of our country, and the very different states that make up our nation. This complex variation is represented on film, and yes - there's a movie set in every single US state. There's obviously more than one memorable movie per state and multiple memorable movies set in certain states, but we've narrowed it down to one single iconic film to represent each one.

Fergie and Josh Duhamel might remain married if they don’t act soon.
A California court warned the two their divorce case runs the risk of being dismissed if they don’t file court documents before their court hearing on Oct. 16, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.
Reps for Fergie, 44, and Duhamel, 46, did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
The former couple have to file a declaration of disclosure before the court date, otherwise “the Court may dismiss your case for delay,” according to the documents.
However, if the two file the required documents, they don’t need to appear in court.
Fergie filed for divorce from Duhamel in May almost two years after the two announced their split.
They announced their separation after eight years of marriage in a joint statement to PEOPLE in September 2017.
“With absolute love and respect we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year,” the two said. “To give our family the best opportunity to adjust, we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public.”
They added, “We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family.”
Duhamel and Fergie share a 6-year-old son, Axl. They began dating in 2004 before getting engaged in 2007 and marrying in early 2009.
While the Transformers star and Fergie may no longer be together, the two have maintained a friendly relationship.
“Fergie and I had a great relationship. I love that girl and I always will. Unfortunately, we didn’t work. But I will always have her back and she is the mother of my baby,” he said while on the Armchair Expert podcast with Dax Shepard in December 2018.

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro only wants what’s best for his child.
On Thursday’s episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, Ronnie returned from his 30-day stint in rehab with a new outlook on life — but he still hadn’t closed the door on his relationship with Jen Harley, mother to his 16-month-old daughter Ariana Sky.
“When I looked at myself before, there was shame, there was regret, there was resentment,” he said. “Me going to get help doesn’t mean that I beat this, I’m going to fight it every day for the rest of my life. At first it might be a struggle, but I’m going to make anything work for my daughter.”
Vinny Guadagnino and Pauly “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio were glad to see that Ronnie had turned a new page, but they still had serious concerns about his relationship with Jen. (The two have a well-documented history of alleged abuse on both sides.)
“First impression of Ronnie is it’s a new Ronnie. New spirit, new clothes, new teeth,” said Vinny. “Ronnie is in a good place. He looks good and he sounds good. Unfortunately, Jen is 50 percent of his problem, so he still has that addiction that he’s battling with.”
“Every time Ron and Jen are back together, I am disappointed about it,” he continued. “Because I know exactly where that’s going to lead: TMZ.”
RELATED: Why Jersey Shore‘s Ronnie Ortiz-Magro Checked Into Rehab — I Was ‘Tired of the Chaos in My Life’
And surprise, surprise — they did end up getting back together.
“Um, you know, it’s crazy, but right now me and Jen are together. Making it work is the best for the baby, but I also feel like it’s just best for each other,” Ronnie explained. “We keep fighting for something, so there’s got to be something there. And it’s not the baby, because people raise kids without each other all the time. So it’s got to be something deeper.”
They were also planning their daughter’s first birthday party, and Ronnie was excited for his roomies to see that he and Jen were getting along and putting their differences aside for the sake of the baby.
But there was one person he had to sit down with one-on-one before the festivities: Jenni “JWoww” Farley. Things had been tense between the two for months, and Jenni wasn’t happy with Ronnie for taking her estranged husband Rogers Mathews’ side by liking some of his Instagram posts about their ongoing divorce.
“Ronnie taking Roger’s side is the most hurtful part,” she said. “Know my side before you make a decision on what side you want to be on.”
They ended up hashing things out, and Ronnie promised to always have her back.
“Roger has always been good to me. But Jenni is my sister,” he explained. “She was going through some stuff, I was going through some stuff, and we just weren’t really helping each other and that’s what we should have been doing.”
“Ronnie is my brother, so I don’t want to be at odds with him,” added Jenni. “I love him to death. I just want him to be how he used to be.”

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas‘ son is still surprising his parents at every turn.
Dylan Douglas, 19, shared a video of himself on Instagram on Sunday in which he took a leap out of a plane while skydiving. The teenager cheekily wrote in the caption, “Don’t tell mom…”
His mother, 49, assured him she had seen the video, hilariously commenting, “Mom just found out.”
Dylan’s older brother, Cameron, showed the teen some support, writing in the comments, “.”
Michael, 74, also shared Dylan’s video, writing, “No I wasn’t the Cameraman! @dylan__douglas.”
The college student has taken a shine to daredevil experiences, including jumping off of a rock while on vacation with friends earlier this month.

Dylan’s fondness for adventure and stunts mirrors another A-lister’s child: Harrison Ford and his son Liam, 18, whom he shares with actress Calista Flockhart.
The Star Wars actor, 77, opened up about skydiving with his son in New Zealand while on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in June.
“So was that your first time skydiving? Why would you wait so long to skydive?” Ellen DeGeneres, 61, asked him.
“Probably because Liam said he wanted to do it,” Ford said, explaining it was his son’s “idea.”

He added, “But it was fun, it was great. I did like it.”
When asked if he had any regrets before making the jump, Ford said, “I was looking forward to it. I would . I want to take the training and be able to do it myself.”
As for whether Liam was interested in skydiving again, Ford revealed, “We’re talking about it,” before hilariously adding, “We’re not talking to his mother about it.”

NFL veteran Ryan Russell spent three seasons in the league, playing defensive end for the Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2015 through 2017 after being drafted out of Purdue University, where he was a college football star.
Russell is also bisexual, as he first revealed in a powerful piece published Thursday on ESPN.com.

As he told it in his own words, the occasion of Russell’s coming-out came after the powerful defensive end worked out for an unnamed NFL team earlier this fall, hoping to win a job on their roster. He didn’t end up making the team, but he realized aft the tryout process that he wasn’t being honest with himself — or his potential football employers — about who he really is, and it was time to change that.
Reflecting on that fact, as well as how he didn’t come out as bisexual earlier in his career, Russell opened up in the piece (below):
“Have I lied to teammates, coaches, trainers, front-office executives and fans about who I am? Not exactly. But withholding information is a form of deceit. And I want the next part of my career — and life — steeped in trust and honesty. During the season you spend more time with your team than with your own family; truth and honesty are the cornerstones of a winning culture. My truth is that I’m a talented football player, a damn good writer, a loving son, an overbearing brother, a caring friend, a loyal lover, and a bisexual man.
Today, I have two goals: returning to the NFL, and living my life openly. I want to live my dream of playing the game I’ve worked my whole life to play, and being open about the person I’ve always been.”
Wow! Very direct!
Russell recounts after his rookie season, when an unnamed sports blogger contacted him and threatened to out the star (below):
“After my first season, a well-known blogger messaged me. He had come across an Instagram story of a man I was dating that included a quick snippet of me in the background. Even though the man and I were never in a post together, the dates, times and similar locations were enough evidence for the blogger to deduce that we were an item. The blogger could have revealed I was in a gay relationship. My professional world and personal world were colliding with me caught in the cataclysm. I panicked, then wrote back, reminding him that there were implications about his actions he didn’t fully understand. If the blogger outed me, I was sure that would kill my career, one that was supporting not just me, but my mother and grandfather. He’d eradicate a childhood dream that was the product of years of work and sacrifice.”
But that person didn’t out him, or even mention any of it.
“After hearing me out, know what that blogger told me? That he would grant me this favor, but that I should be more careful.”
That was the word that struck Ryan wrong. It was what changed things for him:
“Let that sink into your brain: Even though openly LGBTQ people are thriving in every area of public life — politics, entertainment, the top corporations in America — they are so invisible in pro sports that a gossip blogger is doing a favor for a bisexual football player by not disclosing that he happens to date men. Nobody should need a favor to live honestly. In nobody’s worlds should being careful mean not being yourself. The career you choose shouldn’t dictate the parts of yourself that you embrace.”
That last paragraph… AMEN! Amen to ALL of that!!!
Along with his three full seasons in the NFL, Russell was a member of the Buffalo Bills during the 2018 offseason and preseason, before being released among the final roster cuts last year. He has some real football skills, having logged 21 tackles and three sacks over 23 regular season games in his career; he even started seven games for the Buccaneers in 2017, a remarkable feat for somebody trying to establish themselves in the league.

The question, though, is whether some organization will give him another shot now that he’s come out as bisexual.
We can only hope he’s judged on his abilities on the field, rather than who he chooses to date away from it — just like it should be!
Again, if you haven’t yet, hearing the whole story in Russell’s own words is a powerful, moving experience; you can read the full coming-out piece HERE.

Kirsten Dunst has been one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood for the past few decades, yet she still feels a bit of melancholia about her career.
Sure, she’s starred in unforgettable films, esteemed cult classics, and critically praised TV shows. However, the 37-year-old fact can’t help but be disappointed by the fact she’s “never been nominated” for her work — save for a couple of Golden Globe nods.
The confession came during an interview with SiriusXM’s In Depth With Larry Flick. When host Larry Flick asked the Fargo star about the first time she felt the “power” of her storytelling, she admitted:
“You know what’s so weird? I have never felt that power.”
Uh… say what?? Girl, you’re Kirsten Dunst!
Related: Kirsten Is Not Trying To Hurry Up & Lose Her Post-Baby Weight
After exploring this powerless feeling some more, Dunst went on to note how a lot of her most adored films were critically panned when they first came out. She explained:
“I’ve also had a lot of disappointment. Like, the things that people like. I’m like, ‘Well, remember when Marie Antoinette — y’all panned it? And now you all love it. Remember Drop Dead Gorgeous? Panned and now you all love it. It’s like interesting for me. I feel like a lot of things I do people like later.”
Well… better late than never, right?
Aside from the public’s delayed appreciation of her films, the actress also expressed disappointment over the apparent lack of peer recognition she’s received over the years.
The two-time Golden Globe nominee continued:
“I’ve never been recognized in my industry. I’ve never been nominated for anything. Maybe, like, twice for Golden Globes when I was little and one for Fargo. But, like, I always feel like nobody — I don’t know.”
“Nobody”!? We repeat again: gurl, you’re Kirsten F**king Dunst!
But, alas, the lack of awards has been weighing on the industry vet. Racking her brain over what she had done to deserve such a cruel fate, the actress mused:
“Maybe they think I’m just the girl from Bring It On? I don’t know… I just feel like, ‘What did I do?’ I’m so chill, maybe I don’t play the game enough? I don’t know… I do everything I’m supposed to. It’s not like I’m rude or not doing publicity or anything… Sometimes you’re like, ‘Mmm, it’d be nice to be recognized by your peers.’”
Awww… hopefully she channels this raw emotion into her next role.
Awards season is every year, KD — don’t lose hope yet!

Boyhood director Richard Linklater is reportedly embarking on another ambitious project: a movie spanning 20 years starring Beanie Feldstein and Ben Platt. According to Collider, it will be a remake of Stephen Sondheim's 1981 musical Merrily We Roll Along, which is based on a 1934 play of the same name. The musical is a dark comedy that follows the successful career of Franklin Shepard, a Broadway composer who becomes a Hollywood producer, but instead of being in chronological order, it follows the story backward from 1976 to 1957. During those years, the audience sees how Shepard grapples with his rise to fame and fortune and how he alienated meaningful relationships with friends and family.
Platt will reportedly play the main character, and Feldstein will play his best friend, a theater critic named Mary Flynn. While neither actor has commented on the new movie yet, 26-year-old Feldstein most recently starred in Olivia Wilde's hilarious and modern take on a high-school coming-of-age movie, Booksmart. Feldstein also starred in Lady Bird, and Merrily We Roll Along is actually the musical the students audition for; Feldstein's character Julie gets the lead. Meanwhile, 25-year-old Broadway star Platt rose to fame after his performance in Dear Evan Hansen. He also stars in Ryan Murphy's upcoming Netflix series, The Politician. Platt and Feldstein are close friends in real life and recently performed together at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's Grants Banquet.
Linklater's Boyhood - which stars Ethan Hawke, Ellar Coltrane, and Patricia Arquette - was filmed over the course of 12 years and went on to receive six Academy Award nominations in 2015, including best picture. Arquette won the Oscar for best supporting actress. While few details about Linklater's current plans are known, we know Merrily We Roll Along's adaptation is in good hands.

Jenni “JWoww” Farley‘s divorce has been finalized.
Nearly one year after the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star, 34, filed for divorce from Roger Mathews, the pair’s marriage is officially over.
“Jenni and Roger have reached an amicable conclusion and finalized their divorce,” Farley’s rep said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE on Thursday. “They remain devoted to co-parenting their children in a happy and healthy environment and they both wish each other the best.”
Farley and Mathews have two children: son Greyson Valor, 3, and daughter Meilani Alexandra, 5.
After nearly three years of marriage, the MTV personality filed for divorce from Mathews on Sept. 12, 2018 according to New Jersey’s Asbury Park Press.
The duo tied the knot in October 2015 after nearly five years together in front of a group of family and friends that included her Jersey Shore castmates Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Pauly D, and Bachelorette alums Trista and Ryan Sutter.
The couple got engaged in September 2012 while filming their MTV Jersey Shore spin-off, Snooki & JWoww. They first began dating in 2010 after meeting in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, while Farley was filming the third season of Jersey Shore.

Though they continued to spend time together as a family after the divorce filing, even celebrating their three-year wedding anniversary in October, the relationship took a downward turn in December, when Farley filed for a restraining order against Mathews after the two got into an argument.
Farley and Mathews have since appeared to put any animosity behind them. They reunited to celebrate Easter with their kids and in May, Farley told PEOPLE she and Mathews were on good terms.
She has also moved on romantically and has been dating 24-year-old wrestler Zack Clayton Carpinello since April.
Earlier this week, Farley and Carpinello swiftly shut down rumors that they’re expecting a baby together after speculation was sparked when Farley attended the 2019 MTV VMAs wearing a fitted yellow dress. She was also seen resting her hand on her belly in certain shots.

After a fan commented on one of Farley’s Instagram posts wondering if the reality star was “sneaky preggas,” Farley responded, “nope just a burger,” adding a couple of crying-tears-of-laughter emojis.
Carpinello, who attended the award show alongside Farley, also denied the rumors.
“Jenni is NOT pregnant,” he wrote on his Instagram Story. “Stop being idiots.”
